Robert Best passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025. Bob loved horseshoes and made many friends in the horseshoe community. He was a long time member of Pine Grove HC and at one time served as the club’s President around 2008. Bob was also a member of the Floyd HC and Groton’s Tri-County HC. He participated in singles leagues and doubles leagues at both Pine Grove and Floyd.
For a number of years Bob was a horseshoe and game related distributor for NHPA (National Horseshoe Pitcher’s Assoc). He carried and sold old and new horseshoes. He would let you try old horseshoes to see if you would be interested in purchasing a certain brand. He was always wheeling and dealing.
Bob was a family man and cared deeply for his family. His wife, Jan, was the love of his life and took pride in all her endeavors especially singing and poetry writing.
Bob will be missed by all that knew him.
